SIX BILLION PEOPLE

October 12, 1999: Six billion people alive on Earth, with nearly a quarter million new humans born every day since. This planet has already exceeded it's nominal capacity to sustain humanity's current population. Human population will reach seven billion people by 2013, and will be nearly double that, more than thirteen billion people, by 2100. There are 57,900,000 square land miles on the Earth's surface, more than 100 people per square mile. Roughly forty percent of that area is useable for the sustenance of humanity.

All things created or made by humanity are derived from the materials that were here to begin with… aside from whatever has been deposited from extraterrestrial sources such as comets and asteroids. Whether through the passage of eons, a blessed creation, or other miraculous event, Humanity has evolved to our current form during the last fifty thousand years. Current scientific and theological evidence will agree on as much.

Throughout that time, individual humans have stood out against the background of history as prime movers. They have influenced the growth of, and carried out the atrocities on, humanity. They wrote the finest literature, carved out the greatest monuments, and created the most wonderful ideas and inventions. They created great empires, founded cities, built schools and churches. They have defended their homeland, destroyed their enemies, and killed children in the process. They took something that did not belong to them, like land or labor or dignity. This happened yesterday, it happened today, and will happen tomorrow.

Our technology has evolved -- from the invention of the plow and the throwing stick, to the development of space travel and the atomic bomb - humanity learns how to get the most out of our planet's resources. Earth's resources are at the foundation of all human economies. During prehistoric hunter-gatherer times, exchange of one resource for another between tribes bares very little difference to the exchange of paper/plastic/electronic money for goods and services today.

The berries had to be picked, the game hunted and dressed, and the tribe had to walk 100 miles to trade with their nearest neighbor. The resources were abundant, but it took human labor to make the resources usable. Technology has refined that process to the ultimate in human convenience. Millions of people dial a phone, order pizza, and have it brought to their front door, each and every day.

Before now, there was much less human technology. This statement is as much true for yesterday, as it is for a hundred or a thousand years ago. As we enter tomorrow, someone somewhere has developed a new way to help humanity, or destroy humanity. Whether imaginary fiction in the mind of the deranged, or a top secret program funded by one government or another, some humans work towards the destruction of humanity everyday. What is worse, most humans are aware of that fact and accept it.

At the same time, six billion people are a lot of mouths to feed. It is difficult for the common human to quite comprehend the danger behind that fact. Most of the world lives in poverty and is illiterate by modern standards. Hundreds of millions live without basic sanitation and processed drinking water. Millions die every year from malnutrition and starvation. The multitudes that live outside the modern world are not exposed to the 24 hour a day mass media blitz. The humans that do live in the modern world are aware of these facts and accept it.

Certainly all humans have their own individual agenda that run from basic survival, to "just getting by", to the accumulation of power, possessions and wealth. The vast majority of humans are too consumed with getting through the daily routine of their personal lifetimes to concern themselves with the greater need, and the greater good, of humanity. They have their own suffering, no matter how trivial or extreme, and cannot see beyond their own self interest.

Of all the species that have evolved on this planet, humans are certainly the most selfish.

The GNP of an entire planet - all of the world's resources - are consumed or accumulated by just a small fraction of the planet's population. Less than 5 percent of all humans, 300,000,000 people, enjoy this privilege as a reward for ingenuity or entrepreneurial success, or as a reward for past familial ingenuity or entrepreneurial success. The ultimate elite of this segment control most of the wealth, and number only in the thousands.

More than three billion people enjoy a menial existence. They are a part of the work force that grinds the stone of human economics. While the ultimate elite enjoy the rewards for their positioning through personal evolution or familial endowment, the middle billions in this level, are the ones who work for a living. They are the farmers, the factory workers, and the garbage collectors, who grow our food, build our cars, and collect our trash.

More than a billion people live in poverty.

One and a half-billion people are below eighteen years of age, more than 200,000 born just today. Of these younger people, more than 90 percent are born to a menial or impoverished existence. Through education, hard work, and a lucky break here or there, a human born of these or any terrible circumstance, can rise in status and wealth. The rise will afford them the ability to consume more resources, however most of the world's population will never get this chance.

The pattern is subtle, but evident. Wealth does not trickle down, but the population living below the poverty line continually expands. As the worker and impoverished level inhabitants toil diligently just to maintain their status, the power and resources flow upwards towards the ultimate elite. What trickles down are more mass produced, mass marketed consumer goods, that are useless luxuries in the fight for day to day survival.

As the currents of global economies ebb and flow, vast fortunes are being amassed by the powerful few, while the rest of the world places bets on dying a pleasant death. The justification for such greed and selfishness is simple, and takes on a rather displeasing evolutionary tone. Survival of the fittest.

However the scales are tipped so out of balance that human society will eventually collapse. Someone somewhere has the means at this very moment, to begin a social collapse so great as to cause the existence of our species to vanish. Anyone with perhaps as little as a few hundred thousand dollars in bribes and payoffs, could already have the nuclear device that will kill the first million humans. There is certainly enough motive to go around.

For example, the United States as a concept sits as a both a dream, and a target, to most of the world's population. No where else in the world is there more freedom and opportunity for an individual, despite their circumstances, to "make it". Ingenuity and talent is quickly rewarded in the United States, and you can pretty much live your life as you want to as long as you work hard, obey the law, and pay your taxes.

However, Americans also take the rest of the world totally for granted. We have established ourselves as the last remaining global economic and military superpower, and we impose our will on every government in the world, either through diplomacy, subversion or war. Indeed since WWII, the United States has led the world in stability, even when the US creates instabilities in the name of Peace. Which is why the United States is a target. In the greater scheme of world politics, the US has many enemies, even among our "friends".

Americans, as well as most of the Western World's population, are also caught up in rampant consumerism. We all want things, houses, cars, clothes, stock portfolios, 500 cable channels and the latest movies on DVD. In December, 1998, more than 5.6 billion dollars were spent on jewelry! We throw away more food than Central Africa eats in a year, while more than 500 million people live with malnutrition, and hundreds of thousands of people die each year of starvation.

Once again most humans are aware of these facts and accept them.

At the present time, humanity is merely existing to sustain humanity, with no clear common purpose or goal at hand. The same border squirmishes and family quarrels that started wars hundreds or thousands of years ago, are still the untapped fuel of global social collapse. With increased global prosperity, and the infancy of the "New World Order", the segmentation of the population - the have-not's of the world - will soon find cause to resist if not completely revolt against the powerful elite. It may not take the assassination of an archduke, or the rise of a madman to spark the next world war.

For starters, the political process that operates every government on the planet are completely corrupt. From the few remaining dictatorships, like those in Iraq and Cuba, to the fundamentalist governments throughout the Middle East, to the few remaining communist regimes and even the great Republics of Europe and North America -- the very nature of all human government is self-service before serving the people. It takes money to operate a government and power to gain high office. No matter what coin it is gained by, becoming among the true powerful elite, Presidents and Prime Ministers, and Chairmen and Dictators, all must manipulate the "people" in order to lead them.

In the United States, as well as the majority of the planet, the primary manipulation tool is the media. Nothing that you read in the newspapers, hear on the radio, or see on television is presented without some sort of filter or spin. Pressures imposed by to the second news coverage have evolved "the Spin Masters", a class of highly specialized and not well known behind the scenes types, that carefully tailor every word released by every leader in the world. A misspoken word by a Finance Minister or a false press release about a particular company, could send finance markets tumbling, or cause a company to lose it's value in a single trading day.

For the Politicians of the world, the wrong statement at the wrong time could be used against you at your impeachment trial. So the spin masters sit in their invisible chairs and create the words you hear and the images you see. The agenda remains the same, no matter what promises are made to whom. The goal of high office, is to maintain control over the power at all costs. Plus it's really nice to have a jumbo jet, limousine, and a security detachment at your disposal any time you want to leave the house.

It's good to be the king, undoubtedly. But the king makers have the true power in this world. They are the financiers and benefactors of every major leader in the world. Whether it's a communist regime, a fundamentalist dictatorship, or the greatest democracy of the world, the man or woman at the head of the table has a puppeteer pulling their strings behind the curtain. To say that the President of the United States is not his own man is heresy, but true. No matter who sits in the chair, they either do what they are told or they are assassinated, resign in embarrassment, or have their personal life opened as topic for up to the minute news coverage… blue dress footage at the top of the hour.

It is the agenda of the King Makers - the shadow government of the world - that the world will truly follow. These are the most powerful men in the world, more powerful than anyone you will ever see on CNN or read about in People. They do not want to be known. They are extremely wealthy, extremely powerful, and are carefully guiding the planet into a single political entity to control. They already do control the assets of the world. War is too destructive, too costly. Peace, with billions of people to work and consume, is far more profitable.

Not all of the world's population falls under this control. There are uncontrollable regimes scattered across the planet. But the threat of total annihilation is an unpleasant alternative, keeping the political fringe from doing something too rash. Eventually, the idea of money will overtake the power idealism has to control the common man. Soon, every country on Earth will operate on some form of capitalism. Just a handful of men will control the economy of the entire planet. In essence, they will rule the world.

Not many humans are aware of this fact at all. If they were aware they would do something about it…
