ROB BOYLE Generation Rain •
"Funky Folk and Blues"
Rob Boyle has been entertaining audiences across New England and the Midwest with his blend of folk and blues for more than ten years. Influenced by folk greats such as John Gorka and Cliff Eberhardt, Rob addresses a wide range of emotions in his music. From the poignant story of a ship's captain in "Carry Them Away" to the familiar and hilarious ring of surviving on non-perishable grocery items in "The Macaroni Blues", Rob's songs are a feast for the ears and soul.
Born in Canada, raised in the state of Maine, and now residing in the mid-west, Rob admits that staying in the same place for too long does not appeal to him. In fact, he fully admits that if he ever put down roots, he may run out of inspiration for new songs! His travels have given him the opportunity to play from Toronto to Orlando, from Boston to Minneapolis, and a bunch of places in-between.
While a member of the acoustic duo Barnaby Creek, Rob released two albums on the Toronto-based label Peach Records. The first album is simply entitled Barnaby Creek and the second is called Moving Less Awkwardly. He recently released his first solo album entitled Generation Rain.
